چکیده

Several concrete structures in tectonically active regions of the world are exposed to chloride ingress from seawater, saltwater, and other sources, making them vulnerable corrosion-induced deterioration. Although it is well-known that deterioration influences force-displacement behaviour corroded components under cyclic loading, no adequate provisions have been incorporated into state-of-practice seismic assessment procedures account for influence corrosion on modeling parameters acceptance criteria components. Using an extensive database 418 material-level 271 component-level test specimens with deformed bars, this paper presents simple formulations evaluating residual yield strength, ultimate strain capacity, bond strength bars. Conclusions study then used proposing approaches predicting flexural shear failure mode beam-column Subsequently, a reduction factor formulation proposed deformation capacity The demonstrated be applicable current ASCE/SEI 41–17 Eurocode 8.

Seismic Upgrade of Beam-Column Joints with FRP Reinforcement

Many opportunities are becoming available for using composite materials to strengthen/upgrade existing reinforced concrete (RC) structures. This paper focuses on a new technique for the seismic upgrade of RC beam-column connections in gravity load-designed (GLD) frames by the application (combined or not) of FRP rods and laminates. The FRP rods provide flexural strengthening, whereas the lay-up...

Experimental Study on Impact Load Resistance of RC Beam with Corroded Reinforcement

In Japan, many concrete bridges along the coastline have suffered corrosion due to the chloride attack from seawater and airborne salt. Therefore, now, several researches on corroded RC structures have been ongoing around the world. Especially, as a basic research, many researchers have studied on the numerical and experimental method to evaluate static load resistant capacity of RC beams with ...

non-linear seismic behavior of concrete beam - column connections

a parametrik investigation was conducted to study the non-linear behavior of precast and cast-in-place reinforced concrete beam-column connections subjected to tabas seismic forces (1979). the behavior of these types of connections in a four stories structure with respect to strength, ductility , stiffness, and bond deterioration at the joint core are presented and discussed. calculation result...

Influence of the Vibro Stone Column Reinforcement on The the Seismic Bearing Capacity of a Surface Shallow Footing

In difficult soil conditions, engineers sometimes choose to combine reinforced soil and spread footings instead of deep foundations. Among the available techniques for soil reinforcement, vibro stone columns are frequently used to reduce the liquefaction risk, improve the soil properties and improve the overall seismic performance. While there are different models available to evaluate the bear...

Upgrading the Seismic Capacity of Pile-Supported Wharfs Using Semi-Active Liquid Column Gas Damper

One of the most important structures in the ports is the wharf. The most common one is the pile-supported wharf. This type of wharf is consisted of a number of piles and one deck which placed on the piles. In addition to the conventional loads that this structure should withstand, in seismic areas, pile-supported wharfs should have the necessary capacity and strength against seismic excitations...
